EMILY STRONG is an award winning documentary filmmaker and Emmy-nominated location sound mixer committed to collaborating on authentic stories from diverse perspectives that foster civil discourse, connection, and express humanity through artful storytelling. She is particularly drawn to projects exploring psychological, cultural exchange, and comedic elements.

Emily was honored as a DOC NYC 40 Under 40 in 2020. In 2025 she premiered her directing debut, Tasting Heritage, at the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival. The film received funding support from the NYC Women's Fund for Media by the City of New York Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment (MOME), the NYC Artist Corps Grant from the New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA), and the Kartemquin Films Zhao-Chen Family AAPI Voices Fund. She is also the director of The Grocery List Show, a five-part documentary series about cultural grocery stores, hosted by Chef Chrissy Camba. The series premiered on PBS Food in May 2025, with funding from ITVS and CAAM. It also premiered at The Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival, CAAMFest, and the 28th Annual Asian American Showcase hosted by FAAIM.

Her producing credits include Keep Moving Forward (Big Sky Documentary Film Festival Official Selection) and A Letter For Sang-Ah (CAAMFest Loni Ding Award for Social Justice).

An avid listener and learner, Emily has worked on as a sound recorder on notable documentary, journalistic, and documentary-style branded content. In 2024 she received an Emmy nomination for "Outstanding Sound Mixing For A Nonfiction Program" on Steve! (Martin) A Documentary In 2 Pieces on Apple TV+. In 2022, she was awarded the “Outstanding Achievement in Sound Mixing” award by the Cinema Audio Society for her work on Academy Award winning, Summer of Soul (dir. by Questlove | prod. Joseph Patel, Sundance Grand Jury Prize and Audience Award 2021, Hulu).

Her collaborations span across a variety of esteemed clients projects including Attica (Academy Award nominee 2022), Netflix’s Taylor Swift: Miss Americana (Sundance 2019), Emmy Award winning HBOMax travel show, Conan O’Brien Must Go, The New York Times, The Food Network, Disney +, BBC, The New Yorker, Nike, ESPN, Showtime, Chanel, Vanity Fair Magazine, PBS, Kartemquin Films, Zero Point Zero, and Firelight Films.
